"Genealogy of Friendship"
I'd rather die tomorrow than live a hundred years without knowing you.
BOTTOM TO TOP:
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (Sherlock, 2010-),
Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes, 2009),
Vasily Livanonv and Vitaly Solomin (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes And Doctor Watson, 1979-1986),
Jeremy Brett and David Burke, then Edward Hardwicke (The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes, 1984-1994),
Robert Stephens and Colin Blakely (The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes, 1970),
Basil of Baker Street (Barrie Ingham) and Dr. David Q. Dawson (Val Bettin) (Walt Disney’s The Great Mouse Detective, 1986),
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce (Sherlock Holmes, 1939),
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson (Arthur Conan Doyle’s original canon, 1887-1927).
(TOTAL SAP FOREVER YEP THAT'S ME)
Anyway, I said all that to say that this picture that just makes me smile in the most basic and sentimental of ways. A genealogy of friendship, I like that, cause they are each of them important and affect the next however different they may be, but the one thing that remains is the bond between Holmes and Watson. The whole family photo thing works perfectly, even Basil and Dr. Dawson blending in seamlessly by looking like some children's drawings taped up amid the photos. All in all, I just love this
Total Sherlock fangirl... My favorites are Basil Rathbone, Basil of Baker Street, and Benedict Cumberbatch. (In no particular order.)
This is a very cool idea.
